What's a Wildcat Doing in Football?

You might hear the term "wildcat" thrown around a lot this weekend. No, this isn't some derivative of a man-hungry cougar. It's an offensive package in football where the formation for several plays all look the same and can be kinda tricky to read for the defense. Think of it as sending mixed signals. Ever been on the receiving end of that? Check out this explanation and the diagrams from ESPN. Don't worry, it's purrfectly simple to understand. A wildcat or two may have helped Ole Miss Thursday night as they lost to South Carolina. This marks another top 5 team upset in the first four weeks of the season.
