October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we all know breast cancer isn't just a women's issue. To prove they know that too, the NFL players will be showing their support by wearing pink on Sunday. That's pink cleats, gloves, sweatbands and using pink towels. It's a part of their awareness program called Crucial Catch. Real men wear pink and we love it.

Friday, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted for the designated city for the 2016 Summer Games. President and First Lady Obama along with Oprah Winfrey were championing the cause in Copenhagen, because really, who can say no to all three of them? Well, the IOC did and Chicago lost the bid in early voting, with Rio de Janeiro selected as the winner. Other cities in contention were Tokyo and Madrid. They may not have had the backing of heavy hitters like Chicago did, but hey, we're all in this together.

Saturday brings us more college football and more neglect in week 5. Here are some big match ups that will be sure to affect your weekend, whether you like it or not: Oklahoma's QB Sam Bradford is iffy for their game against Miami. The LSU and Georgia game is being hyped because it puts Georgia's wide receiver A.J. Green against LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson, which is supposedly a treat for the greatest of college football fans. Hmmmm. Not so much for you, we know. The other big game is theCali battle, USC v. Cal. Enjoy and endure.
If you haven't had enough of NFL QB Michael Vick yet, there's more. Vick just did it and re-established his relationship with Nike. Nike denies that there is a contractual relationship, but says they will simply supply him with Nike gear, which he has agreed to wear. Guess he's really out of the doghouse.
And finally, rounding up homebase, the Detroit Tigers seek their chance at a division title in their game against the Minnesota Twins. The Tigers had, but lost their chance to do so Thursday.

*Hockey season has started. Look for the rules to be updated soon.*
